Water level sensor

Water level sensors are often referred to as 'water level sensors' or 'liquid level sensors' according to the conventional parameters and names of international devices. They are devices used to detect the height of a liquid (e.g. water) and to convert the level height into an electrical output signal. Water level sensors can be interfaced with other devices (e.g. PLC controllers or computers) to enable real-time monitoring and control of liquid level heights.

Water level sensors usually consist of a measuring element, a signal conversion circuit and a housing. The measuring element typically uses a pressure sensor, an ultrasonic sensor or a capacitive sensor and senses changes in pressure, acoustic waves or capacitance based on changes in the level. The signal conversion circuit then converts these changes to an electrical output for connection to other devices. The housing protects the device and is usually made of waterproof material.

Water level sensors have a wide range of applications, such as level detection and control of water tanks, pumps, water treatment equipment, fuel tanks and liquefied gas tanks. They can also be used for environmental monitoring and weather forecasting.
